Should i date this guy?

he is always sweet and says he has liked me for years now, he asked me out and i said IDK. well he kept on asking me and know, two weeks latr, i say lets try to just b frinds cuz i barely know u cuz we nvr hang out in school so yea. he tries t impress me but i just say, o thats sweet and thanx and ect... he is somewhat ugly and everyone picks on him( im usually not this shallow tho!). i hear from "sources (everyone)" that he likes another girl and dated my friend but as a joke but wen she said yes he wnt along w it but idk if he still actual likes her. he is nice and everything but, IDK. i think i like him. i dream about him and miss him on school breaks and wna b with him in the hallways but maybe im just overreacting so pleez help, Thanx!
