Cambodian Maid Payment After Contract in Malaysia Ends?

My Cambodian maid is returning to her home country after completing her contract in Malaysia. I have previously arranged for bank drafts for my Indonesian maids when they return to their home country. However, my Cambodian maid lives in a very remote location and is not literate. I was wondering how other Malaysian families have arranged payment for their returning maids - is cash safe for them to bring back, and what currency is best?
