I have a question about the NYPD horses?

mmk so my dad was a cop for the nypd but ped away about 2 years ago from 9-11.So i deff. have hook ups with all the nypd cops aha they all love me and always ask about me to my mom.So i decided when i get older im deff. gunna go into the mounted unit and they know that and they said i will deff. get in.But recently ive been wanting a horse and from what i remember my dad said after awhile they retire the horses. i was wondering if i would be able to ask for one of their horses. but does anyone know what kind of breeds they use? i think it was thouroughbreds and quarter horses but i know they train them to be bomb proof but i wanted to know if i could get one and use him as a horse for my lessons? like can i use him to show and jump? nothing higher then like 3 ft ofcourse. im 15 going on 16 and have been riding for 12 years so i have alot of expiriance. But idk if those horses are already trained to jump idk.But i could probuably get one for free because they would give me one if i asked them. do you think thats possible to use one of their horses?
