Atheists and religious fanatics, have you ever considered that neither of you may be right?

Would it be too far stretch of the imagination to consider that your extremist views may not be right and that the truth lies somewhere else? Atheists say there is no higher power and that everything just came to be by coincidence, but isn't it ridiculous to believe that existence itself is basically pointless and that you spend your entire life going through proverbial hell, and trying to find reasons not to believe in anything more than pleasures of the flesh? Religious fanatics, don't you think it is a little ridiculous to believe in stories written hundreds of years ago that are basically fairy tells written and edited by people to their whim just to influence and sway the mindless sheep into doing their bidding?
